Toys treat for youngsters

Playtime Emma Gilbert, of the Dettol Foundation shares some fun with Tyler and Cori Taylor. Ref: 99287-48CHILDREN across Swindon will have smiles on their faces thanks to a donation from the Dettol Foundation.

The charity has made a donation to the Family Welfare Association, which offers a home-based service to families in deprived areas of the town.

The association works directly with parents and children and looks at improving parenting skills, raising self-esteem and improving family bonds.

The association will use the money to buy board games, puzzles, books and craft materials families can use in their homes.

Isobel Weller, the project manager for children's support services at the Family Welfare Association, said: "Bringing up children can be hard and at times stressful, especially if you're going through financial difficulties or a relationship breakdown.

"Our team provides lots of advice and support to families but we often don't have the funding to purchase recreational items such as these.

"Thanks to the Dettol Foundation I'm sure we'll see lots more smiles on the faces of children around Swindon."

Emma Gilbert, the spokeswoman for the foundation said: "The Family Welfare Association provides such a great service to families across Swindon that we are only too happy to help their cause."
