Kane will going nowhere: Highmore

MELKSHAM Town manager Kelvin Highmore has told his Biddestone counterpart he has "no chance" of luring young midfielder Kane Cooperman away from the Conigre.

Biddestone boss Graham Learmonth put in a seven days' notice of approach for Cooperman earlier this week but Highmore insists the youngster is more than happy where he is.

Cooperman made his debut for Melksham Town in Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup defeat at Supermarine, coming on for the last 30 minutes, and left Highmore with some food for thought.

He said: "Kane did really well and he has forced his way into my plans now. There is no way he is going to Biddestone as he is more than happy here."

Learmonth said he feared Cooperman would remain at Melksham. He said: "It seems as though I have done his career a favour. It happens all the time. Someone shows an interest in a player and the next minute he is playing for the first team."

Luke Gullick returns for Biddestone's home match against Chard tomorrow.
