Watery fun is all part of festival

MR TOAD and his friends from The Wind in the Willows will breeze into Bradford on Avon as part of next week's art festival.

The characters made famous by Kenneth Grahame's classic novel are part of the ten-day festival.

It will include poetry, art and music as well as comedy, dancing and meditation.

The central theme of the festival, which begins on September 23, is sunflowers.

Fiona Haser, from the Ale and Porter Gallery, said: "Toad and other characters will be appearing throughout the festival and will invite you to join them 'messing about by the river' on October 2 on the theatrical walk and picnic."

On September 26 Alison Neil will perform her one-woman show The Just William Lady about author Richmal Crompton at St Margaret's Hall.
