Saddle up in safe knowledge

A new range of cycle training courses for people who would like to bike in safety will be provided by Wiltshire County Council.

The local authority is the first in the country to become an accredited training provider approved by the UK's national cyclists' organisation, CTC, in response to a Government-led initiative to produce new national standards for cyclist training.

Instructors will be trained to the national standard to run courses throughout the county.

National standard cycle training teaches the basic skills of handling a bicycle off-road (level one) before progressing to quiet roads (level two) and ultimately to a level where more complex journeys can be undertaken with confidence (level three).

To find out more about the courses, call (01225) 701970.
