ALDBOURNE put the skids under Wilts Premier leaders Corsham, inflicting the first defeat of the season on the visitors.
Aldbourne boss Tony Dyer was delighted with the 1-0 win and said: "I think we let them off a bit lightly.
"We could well have had three or four goals in the first half, the lads were superb, the best we've played."
In a goalless first half, Jimmy Wright was unlucky on three occasions. Aldbourne eventually reaped their reward when substitute Gary Ashford netted from a one-on-one.
In a battle of the young guns at Trowbridge the home side ran out 3-0 winners over New College.
The home side scored all three goals in the first half from Booker Woodford (2), and Matt Minus.
Down Ampney won 3-2 against Calne, all the goals coming in a cracking second half. Rob Burton was first to break the ice, netting for Calne soon after the restart.
Dave Levitt then levelled from the penalty spot and struck again to put the home side in front.
A tremendous 20-yard volley by Chris Jones put them back on level terms once again but with three minutes to go Ampney's Neil Quinn headed in from a corner to settle the issue.
Westside came unstuck at Bromham going down 4-1 to the home side. James McLaughlin beat a couple of defenders to score the first with Gareth Hannah heading in at the far post for a second.
John Webb pulled a goal back for the Swindon side but goals from Tom Slater and Dave Thomas sealed Westside's fate.
Marlborough did well to inflict the first defeat of the season on Warminster, beating the visitors 2-1.
Steve Dean and Justin Guinerie gave the home side a two-goal lead with Mike Reaney scoring a late consolation.
Malmesbury Vics, looking for their first points, were beaten 4-0 at home by Pewsey Vale, Gregg Pinkney scoring a brace and Kai Dorland and Rob Roughan adding the others.
Although beaten 6-3 by Westbury, Purton Reserves showed plenty of improvement from recent games and took the lead through Mark Bennett.
The home side fought back to go in at the break 3-1 in front but soon after the restart Ryan Souter pulled a goal back for the visitors.
Westbury then added three more before Bennet netted again but the home side completed the scoring.
AFC Stratton continued their promising start with a 2-1 win over Blunsdon United, Michael O'Dea and Wayne Petrie on target for the home side.
Wroughton scored 11 for the second week running, Marlborough Reserves the victims.
Lee Curtis and Dave Webb both recorded hat-tricks with Stuart Temple (2), Mark Bone, Barry Dickens and an own goal adding to the tally.
Stratton Rovers accounted for Biddestone 4-1 thanks to two goals from Ashley Channing and one from Scott Ward and James Townsend and Swindon Asians scored a last-minute goal from Alan Leng to deprive Lower Stratton of a point, beating the home side 2-1.
Both Castle Combe sides did well with the senior side beating Abbey Rodbourne 5-2 with goals from Leighton Brown (3) and Jamie Winks (2) and the reserves defeating Purton A in Junior Two by the same score. Chris Yeo (2), Paul Southway, Paul Maddocks and an own goal doing the damage.
