Chippenham are defeated

CHIPPENHAM'S opening game in South West 1 ended in defeat at Maidenhead as they lost 20-5.

Maidenhead went 3-0 up after 15 minutes as Chippenham were penalised for offside.

And Maidenhead scored the first try soon after to give Chippenham a real wake-up call.

Just before the break Chippenham scored as Andy Williamson touched down but the conversion was missed to the leave the half-time score at 8-5 in Maidenhead's favour.

After the break, a shoulder injury to Mark Livesey dented Chippenham's chances.

And Maidenhead scored their second try after Chippenham over-threw a line-out 10 metres from their own line.

Maidenhead added a third try after Chippenham got caught out by a drop goal attempt which the home side followed up to touch down and wrap up victory.
