MINETY notched their second successive win of the season without conceding a single point after a 39-0 away win at Wootton Bassett 2nd in Dorset & Wilts Division 1 North.
Wootton Bassett did threaten, but just couldn't do enough to put a dent in the visitors' strong defence.
And it took 35 minutes before Minety scored the opening try No 8 Mark Holdsworth pouncing after the ball was spilled from a line-out.
A five-metre scrum provided the platform for the next try after Minety fly-half Ryan Dowling was held up having crossed the Bassett try line.
The visitors secured the ball and swiftly shipped it out to winger Ollie Bown, who dived in for a try by the corner flag.
Trailing by 10 points, Bassett made repeated attempts after the interval to run the ball out of their own half but their execution was poor and Minety won possession, moving the ball wide where Brown was able to score the third try of the game.
Holdsworth set up the next try, finished off by Dowling, who scored under the posts to give centre James Tweedale an easy conversion kick.
The fifth try came after Minety winger Martin Coe ran three-quarters of the length of the pitch before being bundled into touch 15 metres short of the try-line.
His forwards set up a catch-and-drive move from the ensuing lineout and forced the Bassett pack back over their own line, where lock Damon Smith touched down.
A knock-on with only metres to go seemed to have spoilt the visitors' chances of scoring another try.
But a heel against the head at the last of the series of scrums that followed the incident allowed Minety scrum-half Andy Brown to slip a pass to winger Bown, who leapt over in the corner to complete a personal hat-trick of tries.
Replacement Dave Church, on at centre in place of Tweedale, completed the try scoring, as he showed the defence a clean pair of heels before touching down behind the posts. Dowling added the conversion to give Minety a commanding victory.
On Saturday Minety open their cup campaign with an away clash at Puddletown.
SUPERMARINE are the early pacesetters in Dorset & Wilts One North after a 28-0 triumph over Westbury on Saturday.
The South Marston side, who last week thumped Pewsey 111-0, have still to concede a point after two games.
Swindon 2nd are on their tail, also with two wins from two outings, after rattling up a 56-0 triumph at hapless Pewsey.
Calne are also 100 per centers, but didn't even have to take the field against Cricklade, who were forced to pull out of their scheduled clash.
