Man denies sex attacks on girl

A MAN from Liden has pleaded not guilty to a string of sex attacks on a 14-year-old girl. Hilary Budgen is also accused of taking and making indecent images of children earlier this year.

Budgen, 63, of Barrington Close, Liden, pleaded not guilty to three sex offences against the teenager between Thursday, January 20, and Monday, January 24, this year. He also denied meeting a child following sexual grooming between May 1 last year and the end off March this year.

Budgen also pleaded not guilty to three counts of taking indecent images of children, three of making indecent images and one of possessing them.

He was released on bail to a pre-trial hearing on Friday October 7.
