Sky's the limit for simulator

TRAINEE pilots at the Wiltshire Police Air Operations Unit will soon be able to hone their skills in Europe's first police flight simulator.

The fully-mobile unit was launched in Devizes on Friday.

The simulator will be used to provide instrument training for police pilots as well as courses for civil instrument qualification on helicopters.

It will be housed in a mobile trailer making it easy to transport.

The simulator will also save money for south west police forces as a considerable amount of flying that would usually be undertaken in a helicopter can now be carried out in the simulator.
