Lewis pegs back leaders

SWINDON'S Jon Lewis grabbed four Nottinghamshire wickets as the Division One title-chasing hosts did not have everything their own way on day one against Gloucestershire at Trent Bridge.

Overseas batsman David Hussey starred for Nottinghamshire but the visitors, already condemned to life in Division Two next season, took advantage of overcast and muggy conditions to claim early wickets..

The 28-year-old Hussey smashed 157 from 187 balls with 27 fours and three sixes and helped push Notts to a total of 336, with help from Russell Warren, who made 60.

Hussey profited from some dismal bowling from the Gloucestershire attack, picking up boundaries through the covers and point almost at will.

Only England reject Lewis emerged with any credit, picking up 4-80 and showing his colleagues what could be achieved with a proper line and length.
