Supermarine blood trio

SUPERMARINE Ladies lost out 32-12 to Cheltenham Ladies in their opening encounter of the season.

Supermarine, who will play alongside Chippenham Ladies in South West Women's Division 1, gave debuts to Rachael Vines and Kate Kowaluzuk in Sunday's friendly, while Sarah Biggs enjoyed her first senior level game.

The match was played in four 20-minute segments but the Swindon side could not prevent their Gloucestershire visitors from running in six tries, one of them converted.

Supermarine were able to reply with two tries of their own, from Natalie Williams and captain Claire Chard, the former also converting one.

Supermarine now look forward to a home friendly against Oakmedians before their league campaign kicks off.
