JAMIE Cureton wants to be the man to end Town's away-day drought as he looks to chill out in front of goal.
Andy King's men have failed to net in any of their three games on the road so far this season and you have to go back to Good Friday's 1-1 draw at M K Dons to find the last 'away' goal Grant Smith heading home on that occasion.
While Tony Thorpe, Rory Fallon and Christian Roberts have all netted for Town this season, Cureton has yet to get off the mark (the official statistics read 11 shots without a goal).
It isn't yet causing him sleepless nights but he is anxious to get started.
He said: "Maybe I have been 'chasing' a goal a little bit but I'm not about to let it really get to me.
"I think one year at Bristol Rovers it took me five or six games before I found the net but I still ended up with 20 goals.
"You also look at the chances you've had, or not had. I don't feel I've missed loads of opportunities, certainly no sitters, because we haven't created endless opportunities.
"I think it was pointed out after the Tranmere game that we were just lacking a bit with the final ball.
"Still, you work on these things and no-one is going to get too down.
"Yes, I haven't scored yet but I still feel I'm doing my bit in that I'm working hard for the team."
However, Cureton feels he has been chasing a goal to a degree since his opening day penalty miss at Barnsley.
He said: "The manager has shown his faith in me by continuing to select me and maybe I just need to relax a little bit rather than trying to chase the goal too much.
"Obviously it's more difficult away from home in that as a team you don't tend to push forward as much but I'm surprised it's been so long since we scored away.
"I'd be very happy if I could be the one to break that sequence.
"Walsall are a decent side and it won't be easy but I think we did okay at Tranmere on Monday and we need to go there feeling positive."
Cureton has more to worry about than just goals though.
He joked: "I've just turned 30 and for some reason people have taken great delight in sending me as many cards as possible reminding me of the fact. I'm also starting to look for grey hairs.
"Still, I'm not worried about it. It's only a number."
