Baby's head reshape success

Oliver Dean Picture Ref: 78303-02BRAVE Oliver Dean should learn next month if he has been cured of a skull defect.

As we reported in April, doctors fitted the ten-month-old with a special Cranio helmet.

The tot suffers from plageocaphaly a positional deformity of the head, which, if untreated, could result in the misalignment of his jaw, ears and eyes. The condition relates to a partial flattening of the back of the head, which in Oliver's case, may have been caused by spending too much time sleeping on his back.

Since Easter progress has been rapid.

His parents, Rob and Pauline, of Upper Stratton, remain hopeful that doctors will give him the all clear.

Originally, Oliver's head was mis-shaped by 30mm. Now it's thought to be just a few millimetres.

Mr Dean said: "He's nearly there. He will go back to see the doctor in 10 weeks time.

"Because it's been so hot we've only put it on at night. Hopefully it can come off for good soon.

"He has come on brilliantly he's doing so well."

Oliver is due for a check-up at the end of September.
