WALKERS have been invited to raise money for a charity that helps sufferers of Alzheimer's Disease and their carers.
North Wiltshire Alzheimer's Society is holding its first sponsored walk on Sunday, September 25 at Westonbirt Arboretum, in Gloucestershire.
The Memory Walk aims to raise awareness of the condition and other forms of dementia and also to remember those who have, or have had, the disease.
The one-mile circuit is suitable for wheelchairs and there is plenty of disabled parking near the entrance.
Voluntary groups can enter as well as receiving half of the sponsorship they raise for their own organisation.
Branch manager Tracey Berrelly said: "The arboretum has kindly sponsored us by allowing entry for up to 300 participants, as well as free places for people with dementia.
"We anticipate there will be quite a demand to take part so would encourage people to enrol as soon as possible."
People who are unable to raise sponsorship can pay a £5 registration fee.
On the day of the walk a Memory Board will be displayed where people can note the names of those they want to remember.
Anyone interested should call 01249 443469 for further information.
