Shrivenham still unbeaten

SHRIVENHAM came back from the dead to maintain their unblemished record in the Hellenic Premier.

Alan Dyton's side trailed 2-0 at home to Wantage at half time, before a tactical switch saw the manager throw on a third forward.

The ploy worked as Alex Green and Steve Avenell netted to earn a precious point.

"We were totally outplayed for the first 35 minutes by a really good side.

"We gambled with a third forward in the second half and got back into it.

"Then I lost my bottle after we equalised, took a forward off and settled for a point. But we're still unbeaten."

Cirencester United were convincing 4-0 winners against Purton in a one-sided Division One West derby.

Phil Hall's brace put Ciren two ahead by the interval.

Ian McSherry and Richard Hadgkiss deepened Purton's misery in the second half.

Wootton Bassett entertain Trowbridge tonight, while Fairford travel to Devizes for their FA Cup replay.
