Car wrecked after attack by firebugs

RESIDENTS were awoken by sirens after firebugs set a parked car alight.

It happened at 4.20am yesterday in Alfred Street in the town centre.

Firefighters from Swindon station arrived at the scene to find the car well alight.

The blaze had spread to three neighbouring fences, causing extensive damage.

A team of five firefighters tackled the blaze in 30 minutes.

The car the make and model of which is unknown was destroyed.
