Colin Gould after headshave Ref: 99120-25AN EX-RAF technician who went 16 years without a haircut has had his head shaved for charity.
Colin Gould, 52, of Greenmeadow, had half his hair chopped off on Saturday and then had to wait till the next day for the job to be finished.
And while he says he looked rather foolish in the meantime it was all worth it as he hopes to have raised nearly £3,000.
The stunt, which took place in two pubs, was part of a fundraiser weekend for the Royal British Legion and RAF Benevolent Fund.
Mr Gould, a classic car restorer, said: "I wasn't nervous, I was drunk. They chopped my ponytail off first and then out came the clippers.
"I looked a right idiot after the first half but never mind."
The Fox and Hounds in Haydon Wick kick-started the events on Saturday with activities including a car boot sale, a barbecue and performances from a musician and a hypnotist.
Yesterday he was at the Rose and Crown in Highworth at 4pm to get his full skinhead.
He said: "A lot of people have sponsored me, I even got £25 off my accountant. I hadn't had my hair cut in 16 years. I used to be in the RAF so it's good to be able to put some money their way."
So I thought why not get it done and raise a bit of money in the process.
"We have had VE day and VJ day recently and I thought the Royal British Legion could do with some money.
