Big Brother was watching for charity at town pub

Kenny Richards, Rebecca Smith, Teresa Ellison, Sarah Shearman, Barry Ponting, Nathan Sharpe, Brian Long and Tony Williams Ref: 99125-40BIG Brother came to a Swindon pub to help raise money for charity.

The Liden Arms constructed its own Big Brother house within the pub and nine regulars played the contestants complete with tasks, nominations and evictions.

The competition was part of a weekend of fundraising activities at the pub in aid of Prospect Hospice.

"We always do something on the August Bank Holiday," said landlady Debbie Sharpe.

"Our customers chose Prospect. It is their pub."

Band Locomotion provided the music for a human jukebox only playing when the customers paid. There was also a darts marathon, pool competition, disco and five-a-side football contest. On Saturday night the nine contestants, who each had to raise £100 entered the house.

They were given tasks to win food, drink and cigarettes. Just like in the real show housemates made their nominations then the public customers in the pub voted for who they wanted evicted, paying 50p for the privilege.
