So cruelty is better, is it?

I HAVE been having a few quiet chuckles at the recent spate of letters offering lame excuses for angling.

Blind to the damage caused to wildlife and the environment, angling enthusiasts would have us believe that a past-time which involves cruelty to animals is somehow acceptable for youngsters when compared with roaming the streets or hanging around in gangs.

These flat earth dinosaurs who believe fish feel no pain seem to spend inordinately long periods of time pitting their wits (aided by 21st century technology) against these poor creatures.

You would think that anglers could find something more useful to do, but perhaps they have found the limit of their ability.
