Farm gets the taste of success

VISITORS to Butts Farm Shop, South Cerney, can leave with a nice taste in the mouth.

The store has just won a Gold award in the county round of the Taste of the West Food and Drink Awards 2005.

It will now be put forward as a candidate for the South West Local Retail Outlet of the Year 2005.

This year, the contest is to be judged by Prince Charles.

Judy Hancox and Gary Wallace opened the shop, at the rare breeds farm, less than two years ago.

Mr Wallace said: "We are so pleased with this achievement as we cure and smoke our bacon from our own Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs."

The shop sells a wide variety of produce specialising in its own and locally produced meat and eggs, with fruit, vegetables and cheese from the Cotswolds.
