Lyons wants his share of the action

JAMIE Lyons is determined to make the most of his first team chance at the Southbank after a frustrating campaign last season.

The Corsham Town midfielder scored after just five minutes in his first start of the season in Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Melksham Town and is hungry for more.

Lyons, 18, spent the majority of last season in the reserves or on the substitutes' bench and was almost lured away from the club in the summer.

He received offers from Biddestone and Melksham but in the end decided Corsham was still the best place for him.

He said: "It was great for me to get such a good start to the season.

"I was happy with the goal and hopefully I did enough to keep my place.

"Last season was frustrating but I can't blame the manager because I was unavailable a lot because of Wiltshire and England duty."
