45,000 cars five years later

NEW REG FEATURE: Smart boasts another major milestone as the 45,000th Smart is registered in the UK as the brand celebrates its fifth anniversary.

The Smart phenomenon continues to capture the imagination of owners and enthusiasts as they join in and celebrate at two events this summer.

The anniversary of the Smartclub was celebrated at The Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon this summer. The event is open to the public and there will be a range of trade stalls, product displays and demonstrations.

Five years of Smart in the UK is also being commemorated by the, now famous, annual London to Brighton Smart run, on Sunday, September 25.

In an attempt to top last year's 2,000 participants, Smarts from across the UK and Europe will be gathering at Thorpe Park in Surrey.

The finish venue will be Brighton Racecourse. Jeremy Simpson, head of Smart in the UK and Ireland, said: "A real joy of working with the Smart brand is being able to take part in these events with such an enthusiastic group of owners.

"I believe we have the strongest relationship between owners and brand of any manufacturer and this is regularly demonstrated through the Smart community."

The Smartclub is the second largest car club in the UK after just five years and has more than 22,000 members.

The smart range of cars starts from £6,810 and customers can get more information by logging onto www.smart.com/uk, or calling the smart Infocentre on 0808 000 8080.
