Still time to nominate your hero

ENTRIES have been coming in for the 2005 Salisbury People Awards - and it's not too late to nominate your local hero.

On Sunday, October 16, the people who you think make South Wiltshire and the New Forest a nicer place to be will be invited to a ceremony at Salisbury Arts Centre.

Some of them will have overcome adversity, others will have shown great courage.

Some will have shown the true meaning of friendship, while others go out of their way to help people in less fortunate situations.

There will be prizes for those who work in the charity sector, emergency services and caring professions, as well as awards for people who play vital roles in their communities or show they are great parents or fantastic friends.

Nominees can be any age and we're inviting all our readers to think of someone special who they feel deserves to be recognised for all they do.

The People Awards are run in conjunction with Spire FM and a host of local dignitaries and special guests will be invited to the occasion.

To nominate your local hero, simply fill in the form below and send it to People Awards, Bill Browne, Publisher, Salisbury Newspapers, 8-12 Rollestone Street, Salisbury SP1 1DY.
