Successful firm a beacon to rest

CONSTRUCTION firm EW Beard has been awarded beacon company status by Beacon South West.

The award recognises EW Beard's implementation of practices to improve staff performance and customer relations.

It means the company has become part of a network of about 100 of the south west's most progressive and ambitious companies.

The head of Beacon South West, Sue Baker, said: "With a company culture focused around continual improvement and progression, EW Beard has evolved to meet the needs and the aspirations of its clients, while also adapting to the changes and demands of the ever-changing construction industry."

EW Beard was established in 1892 and has offices in Swindon and Oxford.

It specialises in new build, refurbishment and repair and maintenance services in both the public and private sectors.

Managing director Mark Beard said: "We are delighted our recent modernisation programme and the manner in which we carry out our business have been recognised by Beacon South West.

"I anticipate that working with other like-minded companies will be of great mutual benefit."
