Could you be Britain's coolest boss?

A SWINDON firm has issued a challenge to find Britain's coolest boss.

Npower business, which is part of RWE npower, is looking for the best boss in Britain with ideas for helping staff to stop getting hot and bothered this summer.

The search is part of npower's hot under the collar campaign, which aims to help businesses ensure energy costs don't soar this summer.

The summer heat can have a dramatic impact on energy costs, as air-conditioning units and energy inefficient buildings push energy consumption to new heights.

To combat this npower business is looking for original ways of keeping office temperatures down.

Some ideas have included from providing ice creams, introducing compulsory beach wear for hot days, serving cool drinks and having an office paddling pool.

RWE npower employs about 900 people in Swindon.

Market communications manager Joan Coe said: "Energy inefficient buildings are costing businesses £1.1bn a year and we hope this competition will highlight some really original energy saving practices for us to promote."

To enter, write to npower in 50 words to say why your boss is the coolest in the country, or why you think you deserve the title.

Entries can be emailed to hot@npower.com or by post to Britain's Coolest Boss, McCann Erickson, McCann House, Highlands Road, Solihull B90 4WE.

As well as being recognised as Britain's Coolest Boss, the lucky winner will get a trip to the Ice Hotel in Sweden.
