THERE was another lady in the limelight last weekend, when Sylvia Cottle showed the men the way home in Haydon Street's 'Jack Cave' Memorial Match fished at Dodford Farm.
Sylvia fished a pole in conjunction with a small Avon float, feeding hemp seed and baiting with caster to take 10lb 8oz of roach and dace plus a small pike.
Second was Danny Gould (9-4-0). He was followed by John Hale (6-4-0) and John Godden (5-8-0).
Graham Rose showed 'there's life in the old dog yet' when he won two matches last week.
He won the BCA match at Westleaze with 12lb, ahead of Dave Simpkins 10-6-0 and John Brady 10-4-0. Terry Arnold was fourth with 9-10-0.
Rose, a six-day-a-week angler, continued his success with 109lb of carp in the Transco v Raychem match at Roode Aston, held in torrential rain.
Second was Malcolm Fitzgerald with 89-3-0, followed by Rose's fishing compatriot Mick Robins with 74-12-0.
Overall match team result was Transco 302lb, Raychem 347lb.
