Chippenham revenge bid

IT'S a repeat of last season's Bath Combination Cup Final in rugby's national Intermediate Cup first round next month.

Chippenham, promoted to South West Division 1 from South West 2 East, were beaten by Western Counties North outfit Walcot at Bath's Recreation Ground.

And they will travel to Bath again on Saturday, September 17 looking for revenge.

Elsewhere, Wootton Bassett will host Southern Counties South newcomers Corsham, Trowbridge and Devizes will meet in another all-Southern Counties encounter, and Swindon host fellow Southern Counties North outfit Chipping Norton.

In the Junior Vase, no Wiltshire sides will face a preliminary-round tie.

The first round kicks off on Saturday, September 3 , with Swindon College Old Boys at home to Gloucester side Matson, Supermarine hosting Dorset outfit Bridport at South Marston, and Marlborough entertaining Pewsey Vale.

Away from home, Calne visit Poole on the south coast, Cirencester travel to either Minchinhampton or Smiths Industries and Minety travel south to Puddletown.
