Thirty-six golfers teed off at the Wrag Barn Golf Club, Highworth, to raise money for the hospice.

The annual event is organised by building and civil engineering contractor Tithegrove, which is based in Bath Road.

Joint managing director, Steve Rayson, said the day had started as a success.

"It was a beautiful day, and the weather was perfect. Everybody was thoroughly enjoying themselves."

Mr Rayson, the only non-golfer, was manning the drinks trolley.

"If I was playing I'd be with the same group all day, so it was a good way of getting round and meeting everyone."

In the evening, golfers and their guests enjoyed an evening meal and took part in a raffle to raise more money for the hospice in Wroughton.

They were hoping to raise around £6,000 for the Prospect Hospice.

Since 2000, the company has donated more than £20,000 to the hospice and associated charities the annual golfing event.
