Care was excellent for mum

AFTER watching Panorama for two weeks running on the treatment of our old people in hospital, I felt I had to write.

On Sunday, July 10 my mother was rushed to the GW Hospital.

She was admitted to the acute ward, but not until she was seen thoroughly and then the information passed on to me. She was very ill, in fact dying.

She was sent to Fern Ward and then to Saturn.

Four weeks later she has now gone to Wick House where the treatment seems to be just as kind.

My family commented on what wonderful staff and the high standard of cleanliness and medical care she received.

She was a frightened 84-year-old who had not been in hospital for years. So imagine her delight the modern hospital and young nurses who tended to her every whim.

The last time my mother remembered a hospital ward was at Stratton where she worked with old people. She didn't see Panorama. Thank God she didn't. Swindon does look after its old people I am a witness to that.
