Great Bedwyn reform team

GREAT Bedwyn Football club reopened their Memorial Playing Fields pitch on Sunday with the view to get back into league football by the start of next season.

Despite being beaten 7-1 by Cirencester League outfit Ashton Keynes, the day was viewed as a huge success.

The club was reformed in May under the new name of Kudos Great Bedwyn by chairman Phil Cheese, who owns Kudos Security Ltd, and manager Ian Mundy and will provide a facility for youngsters in the village. The club has a specific rule that in order to play you must be born, live or work in the parishes of the Bedwyns, St Katherines or Chisbury.

The next step is to apply for grants to re-build the changing rooms in order to be affliated with the Wiltshire FA.
