Company maintains its path to success

A PROPERTY maintenance firm has celebrated its first birthday.

Eagle Property Maintenance, based at the Central Trading Estate in Old Town, celebrated the landmark anniversary last week.

The firm is the brainchild of director John Eyles. It specialises in what it calls reactive property maintenance, being calling out to shops and houses for emergency repairs.

Operations manager Peter Noga said the team has to be ready for anything.

"Our team at Eagle have to be able to cover a wide spectrum of work, from doing basic repairs to building a conservatory," he said.

"We like to keep all our work in-house and we rarely sub-contract out.

"We serve the most of the country. Our people could be called out as far as Truro or Plymouth to carry out the work needed."

Already the firm carries out work for shops including Pets@Home and Clarks and has built up a team of 20 builders, carpenters, plumbers and electricians.

It is looking to expand further over the next year.

"It was a tough start for the company," said Mr Noga.

"Getting our name known and getting the recommendations was a big part of the challenge but things are going well now and we have our team to thank for that."

Mr Noga said Eagle was now looking into the creation of a second depot, possibly in Plymouth.
