Greenbelt land

COATE DEVELOPMENT: I AM of an open mind whether we should build on the Coate Water area. The only things that I would say against it is would we be able to provide facilities to make it viable?

Today I received a letter from Thames Water saying there is a water shortage, so having 1,800 new homes would not help would it?

I also read with some amusement on in Saturday's Adver on the debate that several people against redevelopment come from West Swindon, what do they think their homes were built on?

That's right it was Swindon's green land!

But they were happy 25-30 years ago that we decided to build on the greenbelt.
