Youngsters show skill

THE first of three soccer fun weeks was held at Gerrard Buxton Sports ground in Wootton Bassett last week.

More thas 50 boys and girls, aged five to 13, took part in the FA Soccer Stars Programme which involved tests in shooting, dribbling, turns, speed, heading, and running with the ball.

A majority of the youngsters achieved a five-star standard with many of the older age group attaining a six-star award.

For each of the three age groups there were two awards the ACE award for Attitude Commitment and Effort, and the PEP award for Performance, Effort and Progress.

Winners: A group: ACE Daniel Watts, PEP Charlotte Burke; B group: ACE Ben Watts, PEP Rueben Querzani-Southan;C group: ACE Euan Burke, PEP Lewis Ward. Competition winners Football golf: Harry Ward and Ben Gerrish; Penalty competition: Josh Fail, Niall Alstowe and Thomas Bevan.
