Time to call a halt

There is no need to have a university in Swindon there are several in an hour or so driving distance.

If Coate is the only place in Swindon that the university authorities will consider then they should be told that we can manage very well without them. Equally we don't want the area used for the vast housing development which has been linked to the development of the area.

Swindon has undergone rapid expansion over the years and it is time to call a halt at least for many years. Our attraction of the borough is its mixed urban and rural character.

I think the balance is right and should be preserved.

The council must learn that bigger is not necessarily better. The council (whoever is in power) also needs to start listening. And I mean listening not consent and ignore.
