Learning about ancient cultures

TWO courses are being run at Swindon Dance to teach people the ancient art of Egyptian dancing and culture.

The course will be taught by the belly dancer Wendy Marlett, a member of the dance troupe Fat Chance Belly Dance of San Francisco.

She will teach modern oriental dance, Beledi and performance skills, tribal dancing, costuming and drumming and drum tuition.

The event at the Town Hall Studios in Regent Circus will also feature live music, a traditional bazaar, fashion show, dance presentation and traditional food.

The tickets prices are £50 for a full day including the performance and fashion show; £25 for beginners, the fashion show and shopping; £10 to watch the performance and show; £18.50 for the drumming package.

The events take place on November 20 and February 5.
