Deadline for contest nears

Musicians and artists have until the end of next week to put their names into the spotlight for when Wootton Bassett re-launches its Music and Arts Festival.

The deadline for entering the two-day competition ends on July 9 with the festival itself taking place in Wootton Bassett on July 23 and 24.

Festival co-organiser Kerrie Dixon said: "Things are coming together very nicely and we've already sold plenty of tickets."

The singing competition is split into categories of show tunes and pop, with the instrumental competition divided into solo and solo with backing tracks. The entry fee is £2.50.

Entry forms are available from Brian Taylor Music, SPS Stationery, Framing & Stamping Corner, Bob the Baker, the library and town council offices.
