Coke strikes winning note

I'D Like To Teach The World To Sing, which featured in the classic 1970s advert for Coca-Cola, has been voted the greatest ever song from a TV commercial.

The 1971 favourite topped a list compiled by Channel 4.

Adapted from a song by the New Seekers, it was the soundtrack to the famous "Hilltop" ad in which a cast of smiling young people sang: "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony/I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company."

Coca-Cola has recently remade the ad to promote its new zero-calorie fizzy drink. Dance hit Make Luv, from the 2003 Lynx deodorant commercial, came second in the poll.
