Wiltshire Youth League

U15: TOM Needham batted throughout the Biddestone innings as he scored an unbeaten 129 against Calne.

Needham, who struck to all parts of the ground, was supported by Paul Walden (28) and Josh Boulton (29no) as Biddestone reached 229-5. Tom Crosby took 2-42 for Calne.

The home side were then dismissed for just 32 as Biddestone triumphed by an emphatic 197 runs. Alex Leadbeater (3-2), Nat Jansen (3-0) and Sam Stafford (2-17) were the pick of the Biddestone bowlers .

A confident looking Aaron Stevens (101) and J-P Yalden (52) took Wootton Bassett through to 201-2 in their match at Devizes. Only Toby Mullins (40) then offered any resistance as Devizes were bowled out for 118 to lose by 83 runs.

Elsewhere, Westbury conceded their match at South Wilts.

U13 Red

BOWLERS were on top in a low-scoring game as Biddestone visited Cannings.

Batting first, Biddestone relied on Jamie Penton (25) and Matthew Hayes (20) in making 94 all out in 26 overs. Tom Alsop (2-11), Matthew Lever (2-19) and Toby Baker (2-22) were the pick of the Cannings' bowlers. The home side found runs even harder to come by as Samuel Copeland (3-7), Bradley Foard (2-0), Benjamin Copeland (2-11) and Robert Poole (2-7) bowled superbly for Biddestone.

Cannings were dismissed for 58 to leave Biddestone winners by a comfortable 36 runs.

U11 Red

SOUTH Wilts retained top spot with a conclusive 96-run victory over visitors Devizes.

Jamie Smith (50) and Thomas Cowley (42no) dominated the Devizes bowling and enabled South Wilts to post a daunting 140-1 in their 20 overs.

Jack Mynott (4-1) and Marc Burton (2-2) then ran through the Devizes batting as the visitors were dismissed for just 44 .

Calne's openers Tom Richards (16) and Jordan Butler (19) gave their side a promising start at Cannings with 40 runs coming off the first ten overs.

Accurate Cannings' bowling, led by Matthew Lever with 2-3 off four overs, then restricted Calne to 63-6. Toby Fleming (24) gave Cannings a rapid start but after a middle order collapse it was left to Lever to steer Cannings home by five wickets with seven overs to spare. Richards took 2-7 for Calne.

Chippenham (67-6) beat Corsham (49 all out) by 18 runs in their latest match.

U11 Blue

A SPLENDID innings from Gregory Davies (62no) enabled Wootton Bassett to recover from the loss of three early wickets to post 120-3 at Shrivenham.

Jack Brain (17no) provided valuable support for Davies, while Scott Winskill took 2-12 for Shrivenham.

The home side could only reach 76-8 in their 20 overs leaving Bassett winners by 42 runs. The wickets were shared by Akash Sharma (2-3), Davies (2-3), Benjamin Mattick (2-14) and Chris Brown (2-9).

Swindon scored 66-8 at neighbours Purton thanks mainly to 24 from Lee Baden. Craig Miles (3-10 off 4 overs) and Callum Wright (3-16 off 4 overs) led the Purton attack.

Cameron Baden (2-12) and Lee Baden took three early Purton wickets before Wright punished the Swindon bowling in scoring 44 not out to take Purton to a seven-wicket victory with six overs to spare.

U11

KEYNSHAM lost an early wicket at Chippenham before recovering through a partnership of 58 between Tom Bancroft and Hamish Pearson.

Wickets then fell steadily and Keynsham finished on 79-8. Harry Brothwood took 2-13 and the other wickets were shared by Guy Brothwood, Brad Dawson, Andrew Edwards and Jack Young.

Guy Brothwood (33) and Edwards (32no) almost saw Chippenham home on their own as they shared an opening partnership of 77.

Once Brothwood was removed, the home side went on to win comfortably by nine wickets.

U15

CHIPPENHAM raced to 57-1 after fives overs before Marcus Brown hit 59 runs off just 32 balls to help his side reach 186 off 19 overs.

In the final over Tom Beard hit an impressive six and John Day hit two off the last ball to take Chippenham to 200 runs.

James Vince (49, with 11 4s) and Tom Young (42, with five 4s) both made significant contributions.

Sam Allard was Lansdown's most economical bowler (0-28 off 4 overs).

In reply, Lansdown scored 85 all out with Jordan Price top scoring with 17. David Jones (3-22), Matt Slade (2-7) and Tom Beard (2-23) were the pick of the Chippenham bowlers helping to secure a 115-run victory.

Portman National Championship

U15 County Semi-Final

CHIPPENHAM advanced to the county final of the Portman Cup with a nine-wicket victory over local rivals Biddestone.

Biddestone, batting first, reached 99-4 with Martin Sawyer top scoring with 44. Chippenham lost an early wicket in reply but then Liam Dawson, with an unbeaten 60 off only 50 balls, and Tom Young (28no) saw Chippenham home with two overs to spare.
