PREMIER TWO: CHIPPENHAM captain Trevor Lloyd is to lay some harsh words on the line in a bid to get his charges firing on all cylinders.
Chippenham have only won once so far leaving them second from bottom in Premier Two and early season optimism is beginning to peter out.
Lloyd said: "None of us are happy with how it is going. The whole side is down.
"May be other sides are completely up for it or we are just caught in a losing streak and need that one win to get out of it.
"But it is still no excuse and we need to be doing better than we are.
"We are having a first team meeting this week after training and I will be saying a few words to everyone.
"I have been Mr Nice Guy and saying a few harsh words may get the team performing."
Chippenham face a crunch clash against Lansdown this weekend.
The visiting side are likely to include former Yorkshire, Sussex and England player Paul Jarvis in their team against Chippenham.
"We need to make sure everyone is up for the game and are willing to stand up and be counted," said Lloyd.
"The only person who is digging in at the moment is Steve Richardson and that's myself included.
"He's the only one who is really showing some determination and staying at the wicket which is what I want from everybody.
"That's what makes me feel so mad. I know we can do a lot better. No one is determined to stay there and keep chucking away their wickets too easily."
Chippenham lost by 106 runs at Taunton Deane on Saturday at a warm Convent Field.
Deane were asked to bat first and quickly lost their two openers.
But a cavalier knock from the in form Tony Keitch (58) and a tidy 68 from Phil Lewis took the game away from the away side who were bowled out for just 110 runs with Pat Thomas and Lewis taking four wickets each.
