Man injured in bike accident

Ambulance crews at the sceneTHIS was the scene of a motorcycle crash, which left a middle-aged man with a broken collarbone.

The crash happened yesterday lunchtime close to the Blagrove Industrial Estate.

Alvina Kumar, spokeswoman for Swindon police, said: "It's believed the motorcyclist, who is aged in his 40s and from the Swindon area, simply lost control of his bike along Ramsden Road. The man had a broken collarbone and he was taken by ambulance to Great Western Hospital. No other vehicle was involved."

Last month The Highways Agency issuing a safety warning to motorcyclists aimed at cutting the number of accidents.

Latest figures show that more than 700 motorcyclists or their passengers were killed or seriously injured on the UK's roads in 2003.
