SAM Parkin's future will be discussed by Town's board of directors on Monday after the club received no less than four separate bids for the striker from Championship sides last night.
Watford are believed to have made a fresh offer for the 24-year-old with Brighton and Hove Albion thought to be one of the other clubs keen to add Parkin to their squad.
Chief executive Sandy Gray admitted it had been something of a frantic Friday with the offers piling in.
She refused to confirm the identities of the clubs involved but did admit that they were all from sides at a higher level.
Gray said: "All I can say at this stage is that we have had four offers for Sam Parkin and we will be discussing the situation on Monday.
"I can confirm that the offers have been received from clubs in the Championship.
"It's obviously a situation we need time to look at and to speak with Andy (King)."
Gray had said earlier in the week that fresh bids were expected for the former Chelsea man and so it has proved. The question now is how many, if any, of the four bids on the table will be sufficient to make Town consider letting Parkin go?
Watford are certainly proving persistent with Town already having turned down three bids for the player, the last of which was thought to be around £300,000 plus players Paul Mayo and Jack Smith.
However, if as expected, striker Heidur Helguson secures a million pound move away from the Hornets in the coming days, extra cash will be available.
Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd said: "Parkin is still ongoing, but we're going to give it until the early part of next week and we are hoping there will be some movement in the next few days.
"I think if we want a player we have to be prepared to be patient. There are a lot of people in the loop but we are persevering with it because I like the player."
