Conundrum solved

CHANNEL 4 has revealed the new line-up of guest presenters who will front Countdown while presenter Richard Whiteley, recovers from pneumonia.

Opera diva Lesley Garrett, film critic Barry Norman, lyricist Tim Rice, broadcaster Esther Rantzen, comedian Richard Digance, broadcaster Nicholas Owen and former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond will do the honours.

Regular host Whiteley, 61, was rushed to Bradford Royal Infirmary in May after falling ill.

It is the first time in the show's 22-year history he will not present the popular quiz show.
