Is this the beginning of a moat?

I COULDN'T help noticing that in Monday's Adver there were three pages of Notices issued by Swindon Council advising of massive street works in and around Swindon during September causing delays and disruption for up to 11 weeks.

Am I mistaken or do the places where this street work is to be carried out almost form the beginnings of a circle?

Could this be the beginnings of a moat? Or the rebirth of the old canal system?

Are we to declare independence? Is this part of our bid to become a city? Or is this an attempt to flex the muscles and exert the authority of the new arms length Swindon Services?

Or could this be a new method of home shopping where Tesco's, not satisfied with having their name on every second shop, now intend to pipe groceries direct into our fridges?

The possibilities are limitless and whatever the reason the disruption will be endless. But be assured it must be essential and will have been planned, and I am certain we will all notice the benefits!
