How to help

ONE of the reasons that Africa is poor is because of huge European Union subsidies to wealthy European farmers under the Common Agricultural Policy.

Farmers in Africa do not get subsidies, so cannot compete for price in world markets, even if they work for 50p a day.

The way to raise the standard of living in Africa is to stop EU farm subsidies and to start buying farm produce from Africa.
