A NEW organisation that aims to raise the profile of the south west has been launched.
Tourism Business Service is a tourism business sale and purchase marketing service offered directly to industry in Swindon and Wiltshire and across the region by South West Tourism.
At the moment Swindon is itself lobbying hard in the business tourism market advertising itself as a town which is ideal for holding conferences and meetings.
Tourism Business Service is aimed more at companies working in the tourism industry.
It is designed to meet the needs of two markets people who own tourism businesses in the area and who wish to sell and those who wish to buy a business.
It has been backed by Francis Clark, a firm of chartered accountants with a branch in Highworth, which has worked with many tourism firms.
Francis Clark's Peter Cliff said: "Businesses can stand or fall on the quality of the business advice they receive,
"This is why we are delighted to be working with Tourism Business Service to provide tourism business owners with the business tools and advice they will need to make their businesses successful."
The service allows buyers and sellers of tourism businesses to negotiate directly to save time and money.
Tourism Business Service will also help to support sustainability and quality in the tourism sector in the region by ensuring that new owners of tourism businesses can have access the advice and connections available through South West Tourism from the day they start up.
In this way, the new owners of tourism businesses will avoid the pitfalls that can trap the unwary and can successfully build their business.
It will enable them to generate profits while addressing the quality issues that lie at the base of the success of this region as a tourist destination.
The service aims to help tourism companies stay in business for longer and become positive contributors to the regional economy.
The financial surplus generated by Tourism Business Service will be used to develop tourism in the region.
