Benefit will be to university not town

WILTSHIRE needs a university providing a broad spectrum of arts and science degrees.

What Swindon does not need is Bath University destroying prehistoric features and a medieval ridge and furrow fields at Coate through a poorly thought out project.

Universities such as Bath that actively seek to combine business and education sacrifice independence. This is why centres of excellence such as the University of Cambridge shun such ties.

The University of Bath needs to expand and it has been developing links with both UK companies and overseas countries such as China. Expansion in Swindon benefits the university more than the town.
