It's a small world after all

77113-59SCHOOL children ditched their uniforms and took on a whole new look as part of their Multicultural Week.

Wanborough Primary School fused different cultures together to give the youngsters a better understanding of different countries.

Teacher Joanne Jardim organised the event because she wanted to spread an understanding of life outside England.

She said: "The children here are quite sheltered from other cultures.

"So it was good for them to learn about how other people live.

During the week, children have studied cultures from Africa, India, Japan, the Caribbean and Europe.

They dressed up in costumes, which their parents helped to make, painted pictures inspired by each country, read stories and listened to different music.

They also tucked into different foods, including a Caribbean Feast, which was cooked by some of the parents.
