Golding makes county start

Wiltshire's new signing, James Golding, was quickly into the wickets in Sunday's warm-up match against Corsham.

The Minor Counties Western Division side have signed the former Kent opening bowler strengthen their attack for the 2005 season. Golding will be playing for Keynsham in the West of England Premier League this season, having played for Barnt Green, along with Richard Illingworth, in the Birmingham Premier League last season.

Golding was one of the wicket-takers as Corsham were reduced to 33-3 at their Station Road ground, but the weather only permitted an hour's play before rain forced the players off.

Wiltshire open their competitive season with the annual Marlborough Cup match against Berkshire at Thatcham on Sunday, May 1.
