Firm steps in to start ball rolling

COTSWOLD Water Park Society has secured its first sponsor for the multi-million pound Cleveland Lakes project.

Local motor dealer Goodman Bros is sponsoring a Subaru Forester 4x4 for the society to use for site monitoring and taking visitors to view the development.

The Cleveland Lakes initiative combines sports development with a nature reserve in one flagship project.

Cleveland Lakes project director Matthew Millett said: "We're delighted and grateful for this.

"This vehicle will play a key role in helping us monitor progress during construction."

The 450-acre gravel quarry site, east of Ashton Keynes, will be transformed into a water sports centre and nature conservation area.

The Cotswold Water Park is the largest water park in Britain containing more than 140 lakes.

It attracts more than half a million visitors a year.
