Cathedral under fire for hosting Buddhist event

A CHRISTIAN group has reacted angrily to plans to create Buddhist artwork in the cathedral as part of Salisbury International Arts Festival.

Tibetan monks from the Tashi Lhunpo monastery will painstakingly lay millions of grains of coloured sand to create the Buddhist mandala in the Chapter House, between May 26 and 31.

But members of Salisbury Church.Net are unhappy at what they see as breaking the scriptures by worshipping another god on church land.
